Real Beauty Is Artistry – Originality
My Thoughts on Beauty
Beauty had always been in the eye of the beholder
We live in the beauty obsessed society.
A question that is on every one’s mind since the day of existence. What is beauty? Is it all about your outer shell? Or is it skin deep? And if it is then how deep do we have to look? And where do we draw the line? To each their own. But I would like to express my opinion about this fascinating subject. I decided to look it up in the dictionary, just to see how it would be described. And here is what it said:
Beauty – The quality that gives pleasure to the mind or senses and is associated with such properties as harmony of form or color, excellence of artistry, truthfulness, and originality.
The word that grabbed me the most was originality. To me beauty would probably be best described as originality. Because in this day and age, the word originality has somewhat started to loose it’s meaning. We as a society all want to be accepted so we strive to be like the Idea of what the majority of people consider beautiful.
I would like to go back, far back and ask this question: Where did we get the idea of what beautiful should be? Thousands of years ago Cleopatra was considered the most beautiful woman in the world, and yet if you compare Cleopatra to the modern Ideal woman, it would be nowhere near beautiful, not even pretty. Maybe we should blame Barbie for that awfully doll like image everyone around is trying to recreate LOL ( I do love Barbie dolls don’t get me wrong, I am not hating on that sexy beautiful thing ).
I don’t have a problem with man made beauty, I applaud the modern science and the fact that our plastic surgeons can give us people what nature didn’t. I have seen many man and women’s confidence rise up to a level that I didn’t know existed within them after some kind of altering to their look. But lately, I have been seeing these people that are starting to look more and more alike, it’s like there is an army of brothers and sisters walking around, am I crazy or do you see what I’m seeing?
Where do we draw the line? I also came to understand by looking at people that have numerous plastic surgery and still be unhappy with them selves, that there is no such thing as perfect. But yet, they still go back to the doctor and trying to reach that, until they end up with something that look like it came from another planet.
I think and I believe that everyone is born beautiful, one way or another, perfections or imperfections but we are all born beautiful. It is we are our self that grow away from that beauty as we become part of society.
Beauty definitely also comes from the inside, just as much as it does from the outside. I can tell you from my personal experience, that I met the most beautiful women I’ve ever seen, but as soon as they opened their mouth and ugliness would start pouring out of there like a fountain, all of a sudden the outside didn’t matter anymore. And no surgery or wrinkle cream can fix any of that. It’s like there was no more pleasure looking at that person. And I also met people what most of society would not find as ideal, but when those people talk, all you see is confidence and pure beauty, I almost can’t take my eyes of them.
We as people can take care of our selves both inside and out, and the beauty will shine thought. It is not always easy, sometimes we have to work hard at it, but it’s worth it, every bit of it is worth it.
I found this really great article called “The True Beauty Within Every Woman” check it out. I always like to read about other’s thoughts on beauty.
On to the final thought, we are all the production of the universe in the beginning, but it is how we keep on evolving it’s up to us. Part of that evolution, is to find something beautiful in everyone and everything around us.
