Indulge The Right Way Every Day
Let’s be honest, it’s pretty hard to always eat a super clean diet. Not only it is hard but it’s also pretty miserable ( at least to me ). But at the same time, I don’t like the guilt feeling of eating something that is heavily processed. I am also not too crazy about the rules that you can only indulge once a week, because it sounds like a torture to me that I have to wait all week to eat something delicious.
That’s why I came up with my own technique of indulging every day, but it is all about the right food to indulge with. There is always a substitute for every junk food that there is, and if you indulge the right way every day, you won’t feel deprived and you will be able to create a healthy eating habits.
I am going to share with you a couple of the indulgence foods that I discovered, especially if you always get a sweet tooth ( I do 🙂 ). When you eat these treats there is nothing to feel guilty about, even though you are eating sweets, these things are actually good for you. ( I am not promoting any of these things by the way, I am just sharing what I like ).
Clif Kid Bars
My personal favorite is the chocolate brownie flavor, but they come in a variety of flavors. They are made of complete wholesome ingredients, no artificial sugars, no additives, just pure good ingredients. And it tastes amazing! This is my favorite weapon to defeat the sugar cravings. Almost all the supermarkets these days carry this brand.
Raw One Biscotti
This is a completely raw biscotti made with only organic ingredients. So far I only saw 2 flavors of it, and my favorite is Cacao – incan berry – hazelnut. My favorite part about this biscotti is that it’s soft. Regular biscotti always remind me of chewing on a dried bread, LOL. The only problem is that it’s only sold in health foods or you can order it online. This is definitely a very healthy treat, it’s even super low on sugar, only 3 g per serving.
Lindt Chocolate 90% cacao ( the real dark chocolate )
Not all the dark chocolate is created equal. I head so many people say, well if it’s dark chocolate then its good for me. But most dark chocolate this days contains over 15 or more grams of processed table sugar, and deprived of it’s nutrients completely. Not only that but the ingredients list in most chocolate this days is way too long, but this one only has only 4 ingredients, and that is what the real chocolate should have. Most people might not like the taste of this chocolate because it is a bit bitter, but it is very rich in taste. Real chocolate like this one is full of antioxidants and it is also very good for your brains ( sharpens your memory ). I actually have a small block of it every day. Most supermarkets carry this brand so it is not that hard to find.
Raw Revolution Food Bars
This is a very new discovery for me, but I am absolutely in love with the ingredients list in these bars. They are sweet, taste great and come in a variety of flavors, so you will not get bored. All of the ingredients in this bar is also raw and full of nutrients. But so far I’ve only seen it in health food stores, or you can also find it online.
If you have cravings for salty junk food
My problem with even healthy chips at the supermarkets, are the processed oils they use. Even vegetable chips seem to have some kind of processed oil added to them. So the best thing to do is to make chips at home. I prefer Kale chips, they actually have very similar taste to potato chips, except they don’t clog your liver like potatoes do. Â You can also find some sweet potato chips as well, but it’s a bit tough to find the healthy kind because those are only sold at health food stores.
All of the above are my personal favorites, if there is something I might not know about, please share in the comments.
I found that eating something that satisfies my cravings every day works really well for me, because I never deprived. This really helped me to keep a clean eating regimen for a few years now. Once in a while ( which is so rare ) I do indulge on some kind of dessert but I don’t really have cravings for them like I use to.
